I can't even bloody believe how stupid these students are. The picture above is just one of many ignorant tweets comparing Paris to Mizzou. The eloquent philosopher, Sleaze Rich Porter, provides one of my favorite examples of sheer idiocy. The Sleaze tries to make three great points: 1) that Paris and Mizzou are evenly remotely similar, 2) that when something truly heinous happens in the world, we should still pay equal attention to comparatively trivial goings-on elsewhere, and 3) that everyone should pray for Mizzou, but "fuck Paris." Wow. If I wasn't sympathetic before, I certainly am now! Good job canvassing for empathy, Sleaze!
Nicki at The Liberty Zone put the audacity into more poetic words than I could:
"THEIR struggle. They are safely ensconced in their dorm rooms and apartments, getting a university education, demanding and receiving special dispensation, excused from exams, mea culpas and ultimate resignations from university administrators, who had absolutely nothing to do with the alleged incidents in question, and they’re belittling the murder of innocent people by savage terrorists, because they’re not getting the attention to which they’re entitled!
This is beyond repugnant. This is beyond abhorrent.
Upon learning that terrorists attacked Paris, these cunttastic fucksacks decided that the lives of over 100 people at the hands of murderous savages, they decided that it was all about THEM!"

Indeed, Nicki. The Entitlement Disease is very apparent at the University of Missouri. And now the Huffington Post wants us to consider why Missouri is the "heart of racial tension in America." But I fail to give a shit. The article doesn't advance any worthwhile conversation and a reading of the comments shows that plenty of others are sick of the whining, as well. Mizzou now has an interim black, gay president. If racist assbags really controlled the campus, would that be allowed to happen?

The Huff article quotes a male student who was upset that another student said "go home nigger" to him during his first week of college. But racism and other brands of hatred exist everywhere. I lived in a black neighborhood for a while, and a group of girls yelled "get outta the hood you white bitch." Of course I didn't enjoy that, just as I'm sure the Mizzou student was hurt by what he heard. But, this isn't really about true racism or inequality. This is about a group of cupcakes who actually enjoy the victim mentality. And what's so disgusting about it, is that these cupcakes have dehumanized themselves in not appreciating the real tragedy of Paris. In so doing, they are creating more hatred, not helping to solve the dilemma.
